Edward A. Sherwin, M.D., was born in the Bronx. He earned his undergraduate and medical degree through a combined six-year biomedical program at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College.
He completed his medical internship and residency in internal medicine, and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
Following his gastroenterology training, Dr. Sherwin stayed at Wayne State University School of Medicine as an instructor of medicine in the division of gastroenterology.
Dr. Sherwin came to the Scranton area in 1985. He is an active member of the medical staff at Community Medical Center, Regional Hospital and Moses Taylor Hospital.
He is currently the chief of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit at Regional Hospital and the chairman of the Enteral and Parenteral Nutritional Support Committee at Moses Taylor Hospital.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology.
He is married with two sons.
